Lyle 150th Anniversary Celebration Postponed Until 2021

After much consideration and with the well being of the community in mind, the Lyle 150th Celebration Committee has made the decision to cancel the Lyle 150th Celebration, which was slated to be held June 26-28, 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The health and safety of our attendees, vendors and collaborators comes first.  Careful thought was given to other options and although this was a difficult and disappointing decision, we know it is the right decision”, says the Lyle 150th Celebration Committee.

Many factors were taken into consideration including what social distancing might look like in June and along with the guidance of state health officials, realizing that many people may feel uncomfortable in any type of large group setting.  We also took into account anticipating bigger crowds with the All School Reunion being part of the weekend and people traveling the distance to attend the many events during the celebration, and that we were relying heavily on the crucial planning weeks leading up to the event, and attendance numbers, that this may not be the safest situation given our current health concerns with this pandemic.

With that being said, this milestone celebration for the town will now take place June 25-27, 2021.  Our goal is to continue planning for 2021, with the same schedule of events and hope everyone will continue to support our celebration and purchase Lyle150th merchandise!  To our sponsors, if you have already submitted your sponsorship donation, we will hold your donation for next year.
